"At NIRC Mobile Notary, We come to you!"
Acknowledgments
Acknowledgments are the name of the process of your notary verifying your identity and that you have signed a document willingly. We will verify your name via state or federal identification or any credible identifying witnesses. We will also ask you some questions to ensure you know what you are signing and that you are doing so by your own free will.
Jurats
Jurats, sometimes called an affidavit, is a verification on oath or an affirmation. A jurat requires the signer of a document to swear or put in writing for the notary that the information in the document they're having notarized is true. Once the signer has put in writing or spoken under oath aloud that the contents of their documents are true and correct, they can be prosecuted for lying or falsifying any document or statement. As state-authorized agents for Florida, we will work 100% with law enforcement if necessary to prosecute any person or persons falsifying documents to a notary.
Copy Certification
A copy certification is just that. A certified notarized exact true copy or an original document. Some institutions require a "confirmed" true and exact copy of some important documents. We will make those in front of the owner of the document in person or person requesting the document. A notary must make the copy at the time in the presence of the party requesting it and notarize that the copy they made is confirmed to be from the original. We can not make copies of certain state or Federal documents including birth certificates.
Signature Witnessing
We also do signature witnessing which as it states, is witnessing the true and exact signature of a person or persons on a document. We verify that signature via an identification of the person (driver's license or passport) and we witness the person or persons signing the signature. This is different from an acknowledgment as the signature may already be on a document before they sign and we are just attesting to and confirming their identity.
NSA
NSA stands for Notary Signing Agent. All Florida Notaries are signing agents in a sense. Still, NSA has become synonymous with a special class of notaries who specifically focus on working with title companies and financial institutions in notarizing loan documents and other papers pertaining to mortgages, wills, trusts, reverse mortgages, refinance mortgages, and other major documents which people sign at closings of these transactions. Notary Signing Agents take additional classes to become well-versed in the legal workings of mortgage loans, Federal mortgage laws, and how to explain those financial papers to people closing on their homes. NSA people are trusted agents working with sensitive documents that contain personal information so they typically have been through background checks besides being bonded and insured. NIRC Mobile Notary is proud to be a certified NSA-compliant Agency
Marriages
Notaries can perform marriages in the State of Florida. We are one of the few states in the U.S. that allow this special ceremony. A couple wishing to be married by a notary simply needs a valid marriage license from a Florida Clerk of Court. No blood tests are needed in Florida. There is a 3-day waiting period unless you took a pre-marital course then the 3 days is waived. Notaries will verify these two steps before we marry you. As of 2015 by the rule of the Supreme Court, Notaries as with anyone who is authorized to perform marriages, may marry same-sex couples at their discretion as long as they have the marriage license from a Florida Clerk of Court. NIRC Mobile Notary will marry same-sex couples. We have no issue with it as long as all proper documents are presented by law.
